Rates: Special International Rates

LIVE ANIMALS

The rate is determined increasing a percentage to the Normal General Cargo Rate applicable. Within Europe, however, where a tariff include a Basic charge plus a rate per kilogram, the correct charge is determined applying the percentage to the basic charge (B) first and then to the rate per kilogram (K)

Rates covering all areas, excluding between countries in the ECAA

Where the rate is state:

  • As a percentage of the Normal GCR (i.e. 150% of the Normal GCR), such percentage is to be applied to the 1kg. General cargo rate (see TACT Rules 3.5.2) regardless of the weight of the consignment.
  • As (a percentage of) the applicable GCR, apply (such percentage) to the general cargo rate applicable to the weight of the consignment.
Where two different percentages exist, one for the country of destination and one for the country of origin, the percentage of the country of origin prevails.
The weight of the animal container, food etc, will be included in the chargeable weight of the consignment.

The rate shall be indicated percentage below of the N rate (or the B and K rate where applicable) according with the Class:
  • Live animals (except baby poultry less than 72 hours old): 200%
  • Baby poultry less than 72 hours old: 150%

Minimum charges covering all areas, excluding between countries in the ECAA

The minimum charge for consignments of live animals is 200% of the applicable minimum charge.
